I finished my chemotherapy on 1st June after 3 rounds of ec then 3 rounds of Docetaxel
I then started radiotherapy on 23rd June I've had 12 sessions 3 to go but I am having terrible pains in my legs and numb tingling feet. I started anastrozole on 23rd June so have been taking it for 18 days. The pains in my legs and numb tingling feet are terrible. I had aching legs and numb feet and finger tips after Docetaxel but it's got worse, so I don't know if it's the chemotherapy, radiotherapy or the anastrozole that's causing it.
Hi, I’m not sure if what I can say is much help. I had 2 x EC and 4x Docetaxal, but finished June 2021. I didn’t really get any tingling during chemo, just a teeny bit under my left thumb for one or two seconds towards the end of chemo. Then, 2 months ago, I got tingling for a couple of days in hands, then the next day in my feet. Came totally out of the blue. Thought I was having a mini- stroke or something, so ended up at A&E. After blood tests, they explained why it definitely wasn’t a mini-stroke, but they did suspect low calcium and vitamin B12 levels, as low calcium in particular causes pins and needles and muscle cramps. All tests were fine and I got advised by oncology pharmacist that it was likely peripheral neuropathy from residual chemo. He had heard of this happening before, and that it is on and off after chemo. A week later it disappeared. Ps. I’m on Anastrazole (for a year now) and he said that it wasn’t that because I had been on it too long, but I appreciate that’s different for you.
Hi, I finished chemo in April on the same as you and I suffered peripheral neuropathy in feet and mostly hands to the point where all my nails lifted off, 3 months on they growing back slowly and returning to more pink colour. It has left me with terrible joint aches especially knees. It's one of the long lasting effects of docetaxel, so maybe the chemo that's done it. I Spoke to oncologist and could last for up to 18 months and she said there's nothing really I can take to ease it. I thought oh great that's all I need, but everybody different. Take care x
