Hi I was diagnosed on 20th May 2022.
HER 2 Negative and Oestrogen receptor positive.
Grade 2.
Has anyone else received the same diagnosis?
The next step was to have a breast MRI
A previous CT scan (which was to check my liver) nothing to do with breast cancer showed abnormal breast lumps and extensive bone lesions So I had a bone scan before investigations into possible breast cancer..The lumps were not cancer but after mammograms biopsies and ultrasounds the lobular breast cancer was found.
The bone scan showed no convincing focal increased uptake to suggest bony metastases.
However I was called and told the breast MRI was on hold as they couldn't rule out that something was wrong with my spine.
Had a spinal MRI a couple of days ago.
Things are just getting worse and worse everytime I see a doctor or go for tests.
I have yet to be told a plan for me, I.e surgery, treatments.due to more and more tests.
What did you have first? Was it surgery? I have never been in hospital and I am so worried about what's ahead.
.
My wife, 56, was recently diagnosed 4/22 with ILC and pathology reports sound similar to yours. Her pathology report indicates on the biggest lump (it was confirmed through a biopsy in both breast and a lymph node). Oncologist tells us stage 2
PR 98%
ER 98%
Ki-67 12%
HER2 1+ negative
All her scans came back normal. Due to the size of the mass (up to 15mm) it is recommend to take anti estrogen meds (letrozole) along with Ibrance to hopefully shrink these masses prior to surgery which is tentatively scheduled for some time in August/September. Our Oncologist stated traditional chemo does little on ILC particularly with a Ki-67 below 20%. At the moment my wife is opting for a double mastectomy with surgery also removing lymph nodes on under both arms. She is having an MRI on both breast next week as a basis. My understanding another MRI will be done in August to see if the meds have had any effect of shrinking these masses.
Hi
im am taking Letrozole every day and then Ribociclib fir 21 days then 7 days off then blood test and if everything is ok I have an infussion for my bones and start the next 21 days
im just about to start my third lot and to be honest I feel really well x
Thanks so much for sharing. Curious if you know what your Ki-67 readings were, or if you ever got an since you kinda backed into your findings.
Your treatment seems very similar to what my wife is going on by taking letrozole and a CDK 4/6 inhibitor
I have the same cancer with the same pathology and they did a lot of scans as they were concerned it could have spread into my bones and muscles due to its location. Ended up with DMX with implants. During the sentinel biopsy, they found out 4 out 7 of my lymph nodes were cancerous so I am now on chemo every two weeks. I was not expecting this since the scan showed ok In Feb. Hoping all cancer cells are gone with chemo.
i also felt it was getting worse and worse every time but they are being so careful for the best treatment. Please let me know if you need any further help. Take care
Hi
I have yet to be given a stage only a grade.
Nor have the doctor's told me I have a specific size lump.
I don't have details of any %
I am going to another appointment this week and will hopefully get more details and a plan.
I hope the meds work and shrink the masses and your wife's surgery goes well.
Thanks for replying
Early days for me
But going for an appointment on Wednesday so I maybe will more then
So far only know its grade 2 but not yet the stage.
Hi
no sorry I don’t think I was given those details it all happened so quick and from no where all
i can say is I had oncology appointment today and was told it is all working to plan so I’m happy with that.
I hope that helps a bit it is a complete mine field
Stephanie,
Curious if it was requested you wait a period of time to allow treatment of anti estrogen meds to shrink any lumps prior to DMX? Do you mind sharing when you had a DMX?
My understanding is it is very common to get chemo if found in any lymph nodes. Right now we are try to get to surgery in hopes that her meds will preform like the oncologist hopes
