I completed my last chemo infusion 2weeks ago , I had 3 x EC and 3 x Docetaxol . I have suffered with blurry vision and constant watery eyes which got worse during Docetaxol .
I was prescribed drops for dry eye but didn’t really help at all , I constantly look like I’m crying due to my eyes streaming all the time. I know it can be a side effect of chemo but just wondered if anyone else had this and how long it takes to improve. (Which I’m hoping it will) . I feel my eyesight has gotten so much worse during chemo. Any advice or experience of anyone who suffered this would be greatly appreciated .
Thankyou all for your replies, it’s good to know it does eventually get better, I do think my eye sight has deteriorated whilst on chemo, I hope that also improves and I will give it 3 moths before getting my eyes tested. I tend to get pockets of fluid under my eyes too which look awful … oh the joys ! Definitely a waste of time putting make up on , it’s all over my face after 20minutes with all the streaming tears .
I despaired at the puffy bags I got under my eyes, it was lots of ‘minor’ things like this accumulating that really got me down at one stage. I can report that the puffiness does go away afterwards. I bought these gel eye pads from savers, they were single use, popped them in the fridge and used those daily. I’m not sure they had a dramatic effect on the puffiness but it made them feel a bit easier. They will go afterwards, hang on in there xx
