Jenna how awful. You should be getting a lot of help with this. Has your GP not referred you to hospital? I suggest you ring the Macmillan helpline now. They will be able to advise. Sending big hugs xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hi thanks for reply to be honest I’ve give up asking for help coz I don’t think they can help it a rare thing and they don’t know how best to treat so I’ve seen when googling it so I’ll just carry on dressing cleaning it me self hopefully the chemo will help but I don’t hold any hope to be honest xx
Hi, my cancer was doing this when I was diagnosed and I can fully appreciate how difficult things must feel and be just now. I found it was best when I kept it clean but open to the air as often and as much as possible. I know that isn't easy because of where it is, but I wore loose clothing and changed underwear frequently. My bcn also recommended to keep it open rather than covered. Mine was about a 2cm sore, so not too big to manage that. Once I started chemotherapy, I was lucky that it had an impact almost immediately. The wound went black first, then dried up and healed over so that by the end of my chemo you could hardly see where it has been. I know it will be different for everyone but I joined especially to message you as I found this really hard to deal with and I wanted you to know there is hope things will get better once your treatment starts.
Hi Jenna may I ask how you are getting and your experience so far. I have just been diagnosed with a Fungating grade 2 tumour ER. Still awaiting staging scan but worried that with it “Fungating” chances are it spread. Have been told will need chemo followed by mastectomy and radiation.
