Going in for surgery on your own

Hi All, I'm just going to have a bit of a rant really. I recently found out I have recurrence Brest Cancer and need to have the lump removed this Friday. What I can't believe is your expected to go into hospital on your own. How ever I haven't had to self isolate before I go in, I've only had to do a LFT Covid test. I think it's cruel, when you feel at your very most vulnerable that your partner. Friend can't go with you. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Xx

I just want to say this.....

I'm GLAD that you CAN GO...

Because during the pandemic here in the US they stopped a woman I went to church with cancer treatments because the hospital was "supposedly" busy with "COVID".....I was so ANGRY for HER....and because of this...she ended up dying last week.

She was scheduled to go for 6 weeks of treatment at a special cancer hospital (not a hospital that had anything to do with COVID)....and I totally believe that would have saved her life....But, they used COVID and they put her off for 6 MONTHS.

I can't believe the UK is still playing these games with visitors or caretakers.....

The US is now allowing 1 person to go with you, actually they won't even do the procedure if you don't have someone there with you to drive you home.

COVID is OVER...it was 2 years ago....It is a TOTAL CONTROL FACTOR on their end...good excuse to have less people around.

I don't know about UK laws...but here in US we have HIPPA and HIPPA laws dictate that no one should be kept from visitiing someone in the hospital and they do it anyway.......it makes me sick and angry.

Again, I'm glad at LEAST you can GO and have your procedure...and hopefully a loved one will be there to help you home when you are finished.
