Hi, I've just finished chemo 11 days ago, 3 FEC and 3 docetaxel. I know the side effects are quite bad with docetaxel, well for me they are anyway, I seem to be hit with nearly every single one of them. 11 days in from my last treatment and I still have no strength in my legs or lower back, I suffer with slight lower back problems where it's weak anyway. And I seem to have got really watery eyes to the point at times tears running down my face. Sorry if it sounds as a rant but I got up today and it's just making me feel really down and I feel so low with it.
Has anybody else experienced this or am I just on my own with it xx
Hi. Well done for finishing xx I finished the same chemo about 6 weeks ago and had a lumpectomy and nodes cleared last week. The chemo is so tough and in loads of different ways. I got really bad aches if I had been sat for just 5 minutes I would get up like a 90 year old. Did my really have the watery eyes. Don’t be hard on yourself I have a meltdown at least once a week. The whole thing is so scary. One minute bundling along with life and the next minute bang a grenade goes off. Xxx
I'm 4 and Half weeks after finishing docetaxel. I was same eyes and legs. My eyes have been much better the last few days I got some dry eye drops smd bought an eye heat.pad off amazon that warms up I the microwave.
I still have some low back.pain and leg pains but much improving
Hope you feel better soon
Xx
Aww gosh I thought I was the only one with watery eyes, docs prescribed me eye drops but not really helping, suppose I got to give it time. Never thought about eye heat pad I'll have to look at getting one of them. Thank you all for the advice everyone.
Sending hugs xx
I'm just so happy that I'm finished chemo, but it's still hard and yes I feel like old woman getting up. Just taking each day as it comes and each day my strength will come back slowly.
Sending hugs xxx
Yes does sound strange, eye drops for dry eyes when they clearly don't seem like they are. I'm using eye drops, think I've used about 3 different ones and a heated eye mask. Slowly I think they are now getting better but it's taking time. Thank you for the advice. X
