Hey , who is best person to speak to about recurrence of UTI, second one in space of a month ! ?
It's ridiculous, i don't want to keep taking antibiotics all the time expecially as can't take probiotics, obviously at moment I will have to take antibiotics!
I want something natural or to do something that can help it stop coming back.
I can't live this way , so far since first chemo I had a UTI, got better then had covid , now got UTI .
Thanks
HelloEtna, There is nothing worse than UTI which keep recurring. My doctor precribes me an antibiotic called Fosfomycine. It's a one dose tablet and works like magic for me.Although they don't disappear forever, the ones I had, have been years apart. My mum also came on holiday. She had been suffering with continual UTI's for months taking five day courses of antibiotics time and time again. She saw my doctor....same prescription. Hasn't had a problem since, probably ten years now.
Might be worth asking your GP and giving it a try? But I do hope you manage to get them sorted soon. We have enough problems to deal with without that.
Is that pill form or liquid?
I m lactose intolerant and have trouble digesting the pill forms , even tho I could take lactase enzymes they don't work.
At the moment I just gotta take a 3 day course then if I get ill again I got to do another urine sample.
I don't know weather it's the hormone injection as I read that stopping eostrogen can cause UTI,
My last bloods were like just over a week ago and were fine so I don't get where these UTI are coming from.
It was a pill but it probably comes as a liquid. Most things do if you ask. I have to take B12 after some chemo damage. That's a vial of liquid but it comes as tablets too.
I do hope something works. It sounds as if you are already contending with enough.
Good luck for Wednesday. Actually having chemo through a picc will be a lot easier than a cannula and it may not be too horrendous. I had a port but needed later surgery with antibiotics and had a picc then. These days there are lots of tweaks they can do if you have difficulties so make sure you keep in touch with your BCN if you feel something isn't right. Don't suffer or feel guilty about making a fuss. However, so many people have far fewer problems these days that it could be ok.
