Hi everyone,
I’m ten weeks post my masectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction. Initially as expected it was difficult to stand straight and my tummy felt incredibly tight. This did wear off though. Last few days it’s felt incredibly tight again and I’ve needed to use my arms to support me getting up from lying and down again. I can feel the tightness whatever I’m doing or not doing again and I’m just wondering if others experienced this and if it’s just part of the healing process? It feels like a setback.
Any similar experiences?
Thanks Mickey xx️
Thank you Anna12345,
It does seem strange to me that my tummy is feeling so much tighter again now. It definitely settled down a few weeks post op, but now it’s incredibly tight again. Perhaps it is the healing of the tissue underneath, but no-one has mentioned this.
I also hope someone further in their DIEP recovery can advise us of their experience(s) .
Perhaps, I have to revert to my firm control pants for the foreseeable .
Hugs, but not too tight, my scar tissue won’t stretch - Mickey xx️
Hi MickeyM
I know it's been a while since your post but I find myself exactly in your situation.
Did the tightness lessen over time or did you find anything that helped please?
Would be grateful for any advice from you or any other members with similar experience
