Hi girls, just wondering about other peoples experiences? how long eyelashes and eyebrows will take to come back ? I’m six weeks post chemo ( EC x3 and Docetaxel x3 ) just started on Anastrazole. My hair is about an inch long, patchy but doing ok ( and very grey ) and although I’ve applied Rapid lash during chemo think they were originals and the Docetaxel has finished them off. Never been blessed with great lashes but something would be lovely! How have other people faired ? I can cope with no eyebrows as just pencil them in but no eyelashes despite a bit of kohl pencil ( which makes me look consumptive
)
Hi Paris’s, I finished the same regime as you on 27 October. Am using Revitalash on lashes and eyelashes almost back to normal with eyebrows getting there, usung revitabrow on them. Before chemo I had eyebrows tattooed in as well as eyeliner - best thing I did as face didn’t look so bare. However my red hair was coming back well until I started on letrozole end December when it all fell out again now coming back grey but only about 1/2 cm although hairdresser did say it was quite dense not patchy.,Devastated that I’ve now lost my red hair which I’ve had for almost 75 years - and never dyed!!
You’re only 6 weeks post chemo so I think patience is going to be needed. You will get there!! Tc xx
LizJon Thankyou for replying, yes your right, I need to be more patient ! I managed to keep my eyebrows and eyelashes to a degree during chemo but last couple of cycles took care of that. Think once you finish you just want everything to get back to normal ! Hope your doing ok x
It took my eyelashes and eyebrows much longer to start growing in than hair, and hair was really slow to get going. My hair really took off between about 3 and 4 Mo ths post chemo and I wasn't able to wear mascara again for maybe 5 or 6 months
I used a serum (UKLash) in the end and they came back longer and darker than before which was great! They're back to normal now a year later as I didn't continue with the serum.
Eyebrows only been back to normal a few months.
Beatthebreast Thankyou, I’m just expecting too much too soon !
Hi Parisa
Sorry, I don't have any solutions for the eyelashes and eyebrows. My brows came in so fair that they are virtually clear. Don't really see them unless I put on the Maybelline brow mascara that I got when there were none at all. I don't have eyelashes to any extent certainly nothing to put mascara on. I have stuck with a violet dramatize -eye crayon that I use as a liner. Actual eyeliner is too dark and dense for my pale colouring. Although I am 11 months since stopping chemo chemo, I am having Herceptin and pertuzumab three weekly, plus was on Letrozole for 6months , now exemestane. I do have thick hair now, but very slow to grow in length. It is not more than 2inches long. BUT, any hair is better than none on the head. It does come back where one doesn't want it to, I have had to do topiary on the legs. No hair in axilla on RT side and virtually none on the other (I think Letrozole did for it).
In the round I am glad to still be here myself and will take the slow hair as it is much better than the alternative.
Wishing you all the best

Hi Liz Jon
can you please advise if the eyebrow tattooing was painful? I’m considering it and I’m sure that, compared to surgery and chemo, it will be nothing but I am just so fed up with invasive and procedures and feeling horrible that I don’t want to do it if it’s really painful.
thanks
Hi Hel 39, I was really apprehensive in case it was sore but therapist put on an anaesthetic cream so didn’t feel anything and it has been my life saver. Got to have it done before chemo though. I was only a week pre chemo when cousin advised me to go for it so I was unable to get the top up at a couple of weeks. However mine were done in early July and still quite defined - top up is now on Wednesday!!
Best investment ever and as I haven’t worn eyeliner since a teenager in early 60s I love it and will continue to get it done!
Go for it gal!! Xxx
