I have had four sessions of Chemo on a weekly basis of Paclitaxel plus 2 of Carboplatin. I have now developed Neuropathy on both hands and feet :-( I have been given Codeine for pain and Emollient cream but the cream is EXTREMELY greasy. Can anyone advise a cream I can us just for my hands please ??
Thank you

I would strongly suggest checking with oncology before using anything that was not prescribed. With that in mind, here are the names of some creams and lotions that help me with skin issues:
Hydromol -- I was told to use that for hands overnight
Diprobase and Cetraben -- both are for use on any part of my skin
Dermol500 cream -- again for use anywhere. (There is also Dermol500 lotion with I use as a soap substitutue.)
All of the above work great for me, so asking your oncology team about them may lead to a solution for you too, but again, I would not use any of them without oncology saying it is ok to do so.
thank you.
All they have said is no steroid cream Just emollient I already have Psoriasis so I do use steroid cream . But they have advised against that, I just wondered if there was any over the counter cream I could use for my hands as I would need to use gloves all the time due to the greasiness of it.

Right. The only other thing I can think of now, is to ask for a referral to a dermatologist. In the area where I am, they wrere able to refer me to a dermatologist who specialises in skin issues that arise from having cancer and cancer treatment. In your case, it seems there is some contradiction between the treatment needed for the psoriasis and the recommendations resulting from the cancer treatment, so I now think that a skin specialist's input would be really beneficial.
As for over the top products, I have seen E45 recommended here on a number of occasions. I have no personal experience of it myself. In the past I have used Dead Sea products successfully, so it may be an idea to look into that.
I had this while on Docetaxol. My hands weren’t so bad but my feet were very hot, red and sore and probably peeled about 3 times during the 4 cycles. I was recommended to use a cream containing 10% Urea and used Eucerin foot cream (Amazon or Boots online).
That worked a treat and it’s not too greasy either. I’m still using it periodically 6 months post chemo as my feet still get really dry.
Wishing you well with the rest of your treatment x
