I was just wondering if anyone has suffered from frozen shoulder before or after surgery . I’m 46 and had a frozen shoulder on the left 3 years ago and my right shoulder started freezing 8 months before my breast cancer diagnosis. After my mastectomy ( 8 weeks ago ) it’s so difficult as my right arm is so stiff and painful and I can’t sleep at night. A good nights sleep makes everything so much better, but I don’t know what that’s like anymore. I’m hoping that ( as some suggest ) it could be hormone related and the hormone blockers I’m due to start soon may help. The exercises are also really helping , but it does really get me down at times.
Hello Goodie75. Sorry to hear about your shoulder pain - have you discussed this with your breast care nurse? When I was in some pain and discomfort following a lumpectomy, which was keeping me awake at night, my nurse arranged for me to have some physio sessions. They were conducted virtually, with the physio showing me some new exercises (different from the post-surgery exercises I was already doing). I had some pre-existing problems with my shoulder (arthritis) but after just a couple of sessions the pain/discomfort was much better resulting in a good nights sleep. Maybe worth a try?
