Hi I'm 61 year old lady who has recently found a breast lump and my G.P has advised that I have an emergency appointment to have it looked at, I have some dumpling and discoloration so I'm very concerned about it. I have an appointment at a private hospital on the 5th of January (earliest appt they had) , but obviously want one NOW.!!  I'm very scared I have to say but guess that's only natural.

I'm not sure if I should go back to work before my appointment as I've been off for last few days because I've been bit tearfully etc

Would appreciate some advice. Thankyou xx

  • The waiting is always the worst part of this scenario. Had I had a crystal ball at the time I would of gone private for the diagnosis then back to the NHS. I found NHS care excellent but the wait for diagnosis, biopsies etc went on and on. I realise not everyone can afford it but if u can do it I’d recommend it.  Best wishes with your diagnosis. I’d go back work to stop your mind from over thinking xx
