Hi everyone,
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I was just wondering if anyone had been given official advice for the booster jab schedule if you have already been given a 3rd dose? I got my 3rd dose in September so I didn't expect to have a booster for quite a while. However, with the current issues due to Omicron, I wonder if getting a booster 3 months ago will have lost some of its efficacy.

Hi Jem, I also had my 3rd primary does in September and as far as I can see, if you are still classed as ECV your GP/consultant will contact you about a 4th (booster) dose 3 months after, you can't use the online booking system. I would like a 4th dose in Dec/Jan, as I am not confident my body reacted to it well. I am grateful to have finished my chemo in Nov, but would like the extra piece of mind, but may no longer be eligible. Maybe have a word with your clinician, if you are still on the list of reasons for decreased immunity, then you should be able to get it soon. Em x
Hi Em, thanks very much for your advice, it's really helpful to be given a timeline. I'll wait until mid January to see if I get any correspondence like I did for the previous jabs and then start chasing it up. I'll be coming up for 3 months this week but given the updated booster programme, I have the feeling I won't be seen this month.
Also, I finished treatment in Sept 2021 so I would hope I can say with some degree of confidence that you will still be eligible. Congratulations on finishing chemo!

Hi, my oncologist told me yesterday that the new advice out this week is anyone who had a 3rd primary dose should get a booster after 3 months. She told me to enquire and not to wait to be contacted. Hope this helps
I was reading up on this and it says that anyone who has had radiotherapy in the last 6 months is classed as immunosuppressed and they should have a 3rd primary dose and then a booster.
Thanks Irishgirl16 and Angua1. I called the vaccination hotline this morning and they advised the same, originally the booster was to be given 6 months post 3rd dose but it's now changed to 3 months. I haven't been given an appointment yet so will be chasing it up with my gp.
