Hi All,
I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of October and I have just had a mastectomy last week. I had radiotherapy 50 years ago as I had Hodgekins Disease in my twentys and because of this I now have breast cancer as women you have had radiotherapy years ago are prone to breast cancer, but if I didn't have it all those years ago I wouldn't be here now. The operation went well I have to go back for my results on 23rd December but the surgeon already said the thinks he has got the cancer out. So fingers crossed I might not have to have chemotherapy. I will be taking Letrozole hormone therapy which I took before two weeks before the op to see if they would shrink the tumour. I had my drain out yesterday which is good so I feel a bit more comfortable but still in a bit of pain as I had my lymph nodes removed from under my right arm which is quite painful. Onwards and upwards.
