Oncotype DX results

My Oncotype DX sent 11th November to USA following lumpectomy and Licap flap surgery on 28th October.

I was told results back in 2 weeks, see Oncologist in 3 weeks.

It just hasn't happened that way.  Today I received an oncology appointment for 29th  December (2 months after surgery!)  ANOTHER 3 weeks of worrying about the results and treatment programme and all over Christmas as well!

Has anyone asked for/been given their Oncotype score prior to seeing the Oncologist?

The waiting is so so stressful! I just want to know my score then I will have some idea what treatment to expect!

Just wondering if it was worth asking BCN over the phone.

    Hi Fleurete

my onco results were also delayed, I had an appointment with my oncologist to discuss the result and she phoned me as we were driving to the appointment to cancel as the results hadn't arrived.  I doubt you would be given the score by anyone but your oncologist as they use it to discuss whether chemo is recommended or not.  May be worth emailing your oncologists secretary though to see if you can get a telephone consultation in earlier if that could provide some solace for you.

Wishing you a good result xx

  • I received my oncotype result when I went to see BCN about horrible bruising following surgery.  It was nearly two weeks post surgery and I wasn't expecting it quite so soon.

Four months on from surgery now, I would say call the team as often as you need to.  What harm can it do?  I sometimes think we spend too much time worrying about whether to bother people or not.  Give them a call as they may be able to give you your result before 29th December.  Good luck, the waiting is awful isn't it x

  • I agree with you xx

Hi, I am going to have lumpectomy and licap in January. Do you mind if I ask how was it? What sort of recovery time do you have? I'm really scared about it. Hope you manage to get some answers soon x
