Hi,
My wife has stage 4 breast cancer and it is in bones currently, however, it is stable. She is undergoing Herceptin Immunotherapy therapy and it has progressively weakened her legs due to peripheral neuropathy and now she has to use a wheelchair.
Has it happened to anyone else and do you have any information to share?
Kind regards
Syed
Hi, so sorry to hear about your wife. I am taking herceptin, but I have been fortunate and not had any severe side effects. However I thought I'd reply so this will bump you’re post back up to the first page as I noticed it had dropped down as the site is busy. I am sure someone with the right experience will be along to respond soon.
Hi Syed
It must be a hard time for you and you feel helpless ...I do feel for you. You're so great to reach out at this time I am sure stress levels are high as you are left to care with not much information to go with. I don't have much experience, but would encourage you to ring the Macmillan helpline for more support. Breast cancer now also have got some helplines, I went for the "Someone like Me" stint which hooks you up with someone similar so you get supported this way.
I also find if you're on FB, they have a Secondary BC support group you can join? The chats there may give you lots of information too.
Keep going as you're doing the right thing reaching out talking and dealing/supporting your wife as best you can.
C x
