Skin is breaking out - it's painful - help!

Hello lovely people,

I know this is a ridiculous question to ask, but my skin since starting chemo and steroids has just been unmanageable.

Before treatment I had the occasional breakout, but nothing quite as severe as this. It's on my face, my chest and also my back - and it's really painful.

I've asked my breast cancer nurse but she couldn't think of anything that would help - so I thought maybe one of you could :)

I know it's a silly thing to be worried about my skin - but it would be nice to look in a mirror and still feel just a little bit like myself before all of this started.

Thanks in advance!

xx

  • I had a friend who was hospitalised with a severe skin reaction after chemo, so you aren’t being silly. With a cystic acne type situation (which this sounds like) they often prescribe antibiotics so I’d imagine that might be something they could do in your case. But you need to talk to a doctor. Maybe your GP could help? There isn’t anything external that really helps in my experience- just gentle, basic hygiene and non greasy moisturiser.

  • Hi there Georgina

Like Annabrock has said, I think you need to get seen by a Dr. Either your GP or your Onc.

    All the best
