So after looking up my symptoms which I wasnt going to do but the nurses left me thinking my symptoms were a cause for concern and are monitoring me I decided to search. I believe i have Peripheral neuropathy my symptoms are

No bowl movement, numbness from my head to legs mainly legs, lightheadheaded/dizziness, I cant feel temperature that well even in my mouth.

This was after my first chemo session on friday. I am really worried now after reading about it.  Please tell me this will return back to normal? I will be ringing nurse back tomorrow as I feel they will have known this but havent said anything to me and I dont why they wouldnt.

Anyone else experienced this and have they stopped treatment because of it? I'm scared if I continue I'm going to paralyze myself! Disappointed relieved

I am sorry you are feeling so worried about your symptoms. Googling isn't always a good idea. Do chat to your BCN this morning. What drug did you have for your chemo? If it was a taxotere there is the possibility you have some PN. It's very common but you do need to discuss how severe your symptoms are with someone who can compare them to others.

I also had PN . Some of your symptoms are similar and maybe some will change over the next few days. Although I had numbness, my feet also burnt at the same time and skin peeled. Although it was painful, I thought it was normal and didn't discuss it. I had had strong reactions to FEC too so I just thought it was me. My advice to everyone who feels any differing sensations...and you yourself will know if something feels wrong.......you talk about with a nurse or oncologist. The oncologists generally say that if you do have PN it will go within six months and if they think you are reacting badly, they can make reductions or tweak combinations to help you.

I hope you feel better today but write down all the things you are feeling and talk to someone today.

    Take care. Love Karen

Hi thanks for your comment, Its EC I'm having the nurses have said that peripheral neuropathy is not something that is effected by the treatment I'm having. I have felt better today if I'm honest and when my oncologist is back off annual leave I will have some questions to ask. I really dont want to damage myself as I was board line chemo anyway and the decision was mine. Obviously no one knows how they are going to be until they have had it which I totally understand but know I would like the oncologist to at least be honest and weigh up the chemo risks especially with the side effects I'm having.x
