Had 1st session on friday with horrendous nausea and dizziness. Should I still be feeling like my legs dont belong to me and my head? I feel I'm floating around in a sleepy state.

  • Hi Strawberry4

i would give it a couple of more days and if your symptoms haven’t calmed down ring your oncology team and let them know.

    Hope this helps.

  • Chemotherapy affects everyone differently. I was really sick on EC the first cycle and hey were able to give me even stronger anti0sickness meds the following cycles. Even then, I still felt nauseous for the first week.

After my first cycle, I gave myself the first 4 days to not do much at all and let my body process the chemo. By day 5, I had perked up enough to go for a walk and day 6 feeling markedly better.

Docetaxel was worse for me, but it did follow a pattern.

I would recommend keeping a note of your side effects and how you're feeling each day - that really helped me for subsequent cycles, and also handy to be able to remember all your side effects as the oncologist will want to know before your next cycle, as they may be able to help you.

If you are really dizzy, then give your BCN a call, or as Daisy53 sys, give it another few days and then call. On docetaxel, I felt dizzy a lot, especially when standing up or if doing something strenuous. By that time, my blood had taken a battering so I think it was low blood counts.

They rang me today to check up on me since changing my anti sickness meds. They are monitoring me and calling again tomorrow as apparently it's not a side effect known. All I describe is it's like I've had an epidural and left me with numbness. I havent yet opened my bowls either since friday there is just no feeling there. They have upped my laxido to 2 and ringing me back tomorrow. Left me quite anxious if I'm honest.
