Hi I've had 15 sessions of radiotherapy which finished 18th Nov but I've noticed my skin under my armpit as gone really dark as anyone had same side affects x
Radiotherapy is much like radiation from the sun, so your skin goes darker. It will fade.
Makes you think twice about sun tans, just burning and damaging your skin!
I know.. I've had 3 areas targeted my collarbone. Breast and underarm. It's just very red but dark in other places I.ll just av to keep ontop of the cream and see how it goes x
Hi
Its a normal reaction to radiotherapy.
Keep moisturising your skin.
IT will fade in time but be aware that it you sunbathe in the future the darkened skin will be more sensitive to sunlight and the dark patches may come back so 50 plus factor suntan cream is recommended or stay in the shade.
People can get caught out if they sunbathe with their arms up !
take care
My tan was the same size of the pad they put on. Just use lots of E45 cream morning and night to relieve tightness
