Just wondering if bleeding the next day is normal and will just settle down eventually? I sometimes get a funny sensation in my chest this comes and goes again is this normal?
I mentioned it yesterday when I 1st had it done and she said it goes onto your chest so it's probably just that you can feel. It comes and goes like a heavy feeling that's only way to describe it. Am just worried as they said my veins were narrow but he attempted and got it in 1st time but now am thinking I'm I going to have this discomfort because of the narrow vein it's in. I go in Friday for my 1st session so I will mention it to them.
Hi Strawberry4, I have had a PICC line in for just over two months and it has settled down to the point where I don’t feel it really anymore, but at the start it was different. I do remember having a heavy feeling in my chest and some fluttering feelings early on. As for bleeding, how much do you mean? I would tend to get a little around the insertion point and it would crust over. I don’t seem to get that so much any more. I had some pain in my chest and directly behind in my back and mentioned this to chemo nurse as I was on the ward at the time, she sent me for an ultrasound to check, they are very cautious due to blood clot risk. It was clear, but always good to let the chemo nurses know and they will make a call on it.
I wish you all the very best with your treatment.
Yes it's like a flutter feeling I get, comes and goes think I've felt it twice today is that normal? The beeding has trickled down to the bottom of the dressing. It must be on and off it's not pouring out constantly and the circle padding where the insertion is soaking it up too.
Hi both my picc lines blead quite alot told this is normal felt great when dressing was changed ...I have now had picc line removed as 1st one worked it's way out and 2nd one got a infection after 2 days of insertion..now only have 3 chemos left so just have in vein now hopefully
