Hi
Went for my pre op assessment last week and got a call this morning to say the tests showed I was border line for sleep apnia and I need to attend sleep clinic before op if possible.
Hoping it won't delay anything .I already have other illnesses so this is just another one to add to the list.Feeling a bit stressed
No wonder, it enough to be pre-surgery so I bet you really didn't need the extra news. My understanding is that they are taking every step they can to ensure your safety while sticking to the same goal -- getting you through the surgery with the required result. Has anything been said about when your appointment at the sleep clinic is?
My hubby was diagnosed with sleep apnea when in hospital for unrelated issue. When he had bowel surgery later they said they had to have ICU bed for him for surgery to go ahead due to sleep apnea. However the tube down his throat cured his snoring for a couple of months so he was the wellest patient in ICU for 2 days .
