As promised an update on my progress.
Today I spoke to oncology, and have been informed that I will be having 5 sessions instead of 15, which to me is a bonus less trips to the hospital. They will be doing the whole breast.
My radiotherapy is due to start between Christmas and New Year, which is another bonus as I'll get to enjoy Christmas and as I'm nearly ready just got to wrap the presents up now.
Now back on track. I will be attending the hospital next week to finalise my care plan plus sign the consent form and get my tattoo dots. So it's all systems go and I feel back in control.
I further spoke about my forecoming holiday next year and have been told how to care for myself after radiotherapy. I must be careful in the sun, wear loose fitting clothes etc.
Well good luck everyone and yes I have rambled but just feel so thankful to the NHS for finding my cancer before it could be felt, routine mammogram, and acting quickly and making sure I was fit enough to be operated on. They are always there offering a kind word of comfort.
Hope everyone gets the outcome they wish for.
Hi, that sounds very positive. I had my first holiday in the sun since chemo last week. I was very paranoid about using my factor 50 and then I had a brainwave, and bought one of those UV protective shirts. This gave me a lot more comfort about sun screen wearing off. Good luck with the pre checks for R/T
Where did you get the uv protective shirt from please. We are heading hopefully to the Caribbean so that would be very useful.
Hi, I actually bought it overseas when I was on holiday, but you can Google and buy them online in the UK
Where have you gone...you so deserve a holiday! Enjoy and soak up all life's pleasures!!

Hi, I had a work meeting (the first in 2 years) in Florida so my husband and I went a week early and had a few days in Miami and a few in the Keys. I don't think I'd have chosen the long haul to bhonest, but I had FOMO about the work meeting
so just went for it. It was a fabulous break. Thanks for asking x
Thank you. Did Google and saw a shrug which I might get as I can wear it over a swimsuit. thanks for that didn't know they existed staring to look forward to my holiday now.
We have a long haul flight we are trying to upgrade our seats normally go economy but just want a bit of pampering this time think I deserve it, plus he's not saying no. glad you had a good time.
We all need something to look forward to. This is one of the things that has kept me going through the ups and downs of what is going on in my body.
My advice to anyone out there is to book something to look forward to, even if its just a weekend away with some pampering.
