I was wondering how long does it take for the pain in breast to calm down? I was wearing a support bra but couldn't bear wearing it anymore after last night. I will have to get it back on soon but the thought of the pain while putting it back on is holding me back!! Any advice?
Hi Tarbie
Did you get painkillers from the hospital to take for pain. How long the pain lasts can vary from person but you shouldn’t be having constant pain in the breast now. If the pain persists I would ring my breast care nurse and she should be able to get your doctor to prescribe painkiller for you to take.

Hi Tarbie, how about wearing a cami type top, something looser could help. I bought a front fastening bra, it wasn't tight under my boobs, not underwired so i had support, but nothing digging in or too tight. With pain i took Ibuprofen or paracetamol, but do go back to your breast care team if you're struggling. Wishing you well x
I bought post op bra which was soft and wide banded but I just think I was so swollen. I have a soft cami top on today but it doesn't give same support. Should see nurses tomorrow at clinic when drain is removed so maybe they can give me some advice.
