They won't let me get a second opinion. What do I do? Stuck

Your GP can request an urgent 2 week referral to a different hospital. Where are you based? 

i thought that was just for the first opinion and not the second opinion

Hmmm not sure but give them a call and see what they suggest. 

I do not want to go vie my consultant. She  and her team have been the problem. I have been treated in the most undignified way. 

i know my cancer has spread but they are saying I have psychological problems. I am sick of this. I need help. Please can someone help me. My life expectancy has been cut short. I am very very ill. The pet ct scan was very suspicious. I know they are being economical with  the truth. 

Hi I meant calling your Doctor at your GP and explaining the situation to them. They will be able to advise you on which other local hospitals you may be able to get referred to. 

You can also make a complaint about the consultant you are seeing to the PALS service at your hospital but I’d speak to your GPs first. 

I made a complaint about the consultant in the first place and this created some friction.

Would paying for a private consultation be an option, you would be able to take all your notes, MDT reports, scans and reports with you so your new consultant could look at them and advise... If the opinion differs the new consultant could refer you to a different NHS team , if it's the same you've lost nothing.

They are dishonest wit me and they arrange things internally so that I can't disagree with them. I'm living a nightmare and the hospital I'm with and the consultant has not given me the best opportunity. They arrange things internally.

Have you asked to read and see the scans and reports? Why do you think that your cancer has spread?
