Good morning, I've hopped on from the Ovarian Cancer group (read my BIO) . I had my op for my OC in August 21. I was also diagnosed with 2 different types of breast cancer both in the same breast in July 21, 7mm and 9mm . I started 3 weekly Carbo Paxil in September for my ovarian cancer am now half way through.
I had an ultrasound on the breasts yesterday and they've disappeared, (I will still have a double mastectomy in Feb 22) it's apparently excellent news , I'm too scared to get my hopes up.
Most people have markers put in , I didn't , not sure why I didn't , breast surgeon and sonographer said it wasn't necessary.
Anyone else in the same boat ?
On the markers - they are put in so that the surgeon can tell the extent of where the cancer was. I had two put in for my lumpectomy, one when they did the biopsy and the other after chemo. If you're having a double mastectomy, then no need for markers
