  • Hi Flashy welld one fro tfinding this amazing stie of support, advice and love.  I never told anyone about my cancer so none of my friends or family know to this day so if that how you feel go with it.  This site is full pf amazing women and when you get your treatment plan they will share their experiences with you.  One day at a time, you are in a very scary place but you are not alone.  Love Ann

  • Hi Flashy,

Everyone has to deal with this diagnosis in the way it suits them, I felt that I wanted as few people as possible to know, others like to share with lots , so you are not wrong in doing whatever you feel best for you. Do you know what surgery or treatment you will be having? Lots of people on here to share a wide range of experiences with you when you are ready.

Here if you want to share…..take care xx

    Hi Flashy

I'm sorry you have had to join us it's so difficult in the early days but you have come to the right place.  That's good that you now know you what's in front of you. For the first few weeks I was also in a very dark place convinced I was going to die. But that's not really the reality of all this . I have had surgery and started chemotherapy and expect to make a full recovery. The road has not  always been easy and  if I could go back and start again I would have done less worrying and more planning for the future. At some time next year this will be behind you  your life will get back to normal and you will chalk it up to one of life's challenges . Breast cancer survival rates are very high . Try and hold on to that on  difficult days

    Hello Mrs polly

lumpectomy and lymp nodes, then follow up with radiation. And tablets for estrogen and anything else they might feel I need.  If they feel they need to take out more then will discuss after histology cums back

    Thankyou xxx

  • Sounds like your on same road as me Flashy, have had my lumpectomy, also some node removed and all biopsies ,none of them are painful, had no pain at all post op.Now,Have had my meeting re.radiotherpy, which begins mid Nov.started taking my eatrogen blockers a week ok,feel well, but no doubt might be a bit sore after radio, then it,s done yaaaah.

hope you feel more reassured after reading other ladies messages,we are all in it together.I-might add,my sister has no idea I have gone through this, handle this the way you want, maybe your daughter needs to speak to others, she could always post on here for a chat if she needs support too,and she could also talk to a McMillan nurse if she needs help, she will be worried about you.You will get through this,be open with your daughter if no one else,my daughter has been great for me.xx
