WHAT IS THE BEST BRAND    I AM TAKING CRESCENT AND SICK IF STRUGGLING  WITH SUDE EFFECTS.  !!!!!

  • About to start on this terrible drug so can’t help but do hope that by responding it will trugger thisevwho have been/are on it to respond.  Good luck!

  • Hi all.  I've been on it a month now.  I do find I get more tired and a bit headache on this, otherwise ok.

  • The hospital gave me my first month supply - Accord brand. I’m now on month 2 so early days yet but I’m ok. Boots have stocked up on this brand for me at my request.

  • Hi I asked my gp for the femara brand today. He called me and said he feels all letrozole have sude effects  he also told me that femara was £90 per month and the one I’m taking is about £5   He has given me one months supply of the expensive brand. Now I feel guilty.  See if it’s any better ????

  • Yes yes yes take it. DONT feel guilty. See how it goes. Why not? We’ve all been through so much. Why would you deserve that medicine less than all the other women who might be taking it? If it’s better push for some more…..xxx

  • I have been taking Accord for 9 weeks. The first few days I had joint pain, insomnia, hot flushes and fatigue. Theses gradually eased over the next two weeks, now it’s just the fatigue and the occasional hot flush. If you are struggling with side effects talk to your BCN for advice and help. I hope things improve for you soon.

  • Figgy, can I ask what side effects you had with Crescent please? I've had 2 months of Cipla and can't bear the joint pain any longer. I asked GP for Acccord but when I went to pharmacy today they said couldn't get it so they have given me Crescent. I'm happy to give it a go as we're all different!

  • Windysitter, my local private chemist didn’t want to help me with Accord either.  But Boots should be able to get you in Accord. Your GP can specify Accord only on the prescription. Xx

  • I wonder what’s going on with the lack of Accord supply? My first box of letrozole was Manx (hospital pharmacy).  My local chemist said they would try to supply Manx but I’ve had Accord last three times, however last week I was given Sun Pharma. I’ve read that it can take three months to settle into a brand to find out if it suits you but how can that happen if we’re not even given that chance with these constant brand changes. As it is, I’m on a break of six weeks (consultant’s suggestion) due to side effects which began just three weeks after starting my first box, side effects haven’t really diminished during this break. xx

  • Day 13 in the femera brand and am feeling better.  Doctor has given me another month  supply.  Hope this continues   X.
