Hi about 3 weeks ago I had shingles ..I'm fine now but last week I had a scan to get me ready for my Radiotherapy I have noticed my breast has gone red and blotchy and is a bit more painful than before it is warm to touch so now I'm worried as I'm having radiotherapy in 2 weeks time anyone can put a light on this please

  • Hi there,

I haven't experienced this but if you are seeing changes and you're worried: rang your breast care nurses or the Macmillan helpline. They'll be able to advise.

Hopefully it's a passing thing and it'll settle down. Our breasts go through so much! Heart

  • H Shirlstaff welcome to the forum. If your breast is hot to the touch this could be the start of an infection so a medical person like a GP needs to see this asap. as you may  need antibiotics. This could be remnants of the shingles but best get it checked out.

  • Hi I rang the BN and I have got an appointment in the morning I hope it's just an infection as it could put my radiotherapy back and I just want it over and done with x thank you for caring and replHearting Heart️

  • Hi Shirlsstaf

Shingles is a weird viral infection and can leave residual pains/sensations in the area that was affected.

I hope your BN puts your mind at rest and nothing holds up your treatment.

Let us know how you get on.

    Thinking of you
