Hi I'm 48, Married, mother of 3, Grandma to 1 and another due early next year
A few weeks ago I found a lump in my left breast, saw the GP last week and due at hospital tomorrow
My husband is aware of this, but my 3 adults children don't
My question is, if i have to have a biopsy tomorrow, will I be able to hide this from my son who lives at home?
And would I need to take the following day off work (i'm a cleaner)
Hi I was fine after my biopsy, they did advise to take paracetamol but I didn’t need too, I drove home afterwards and no one would have known had I not told them. Mine bleed a lot because she hit a vein so my boob looked very bruised but that was just colour not pain. I think they advise not to do anything too strenuous after, but maybe ask if work would be a problem when you have it done.
Sending you hugs for tomorrow
Duane xx
I was absolutely fine after mine and there was no restriction on activity that I can recall, I actually went to work later that day. They took samples from breast and underarm, but it was all hidden under my clothes and no one was able to tell.
As Di54 just said, good idea to ask during the appointment about doing physical work after the biopsy.
I hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
Thank you GreyCats and thats reassuring to know
If we need to of course we will tell the kids, but after the stressful few years everyone has had, our family life was just turning around with a new grandchild due early next year, and my daughter has just started planning her wedding for 2023
Sending hugs to you both x
I was also fine, bruised but I did struggle to drive comfortably so you may struggle a bit with a physical job, I work in a school so I’m very active and I did manage that, I’m sure you’ll be ok but don’t heavy lift xx
Cwozza same as you , just thought we were getting to a better place and now this, don’t intend telling anyone yet until I have more information, my daughter is getting married April next year, no grandchildren for me yet, still waiting !
