Advice needed regarding breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body is any treatment worth it for my mum it's not curable and is quite advanced just need some support on the issue.
Hello
I'm sorry to read your post and very sorry to hear that your Mum has incurable breast cancer. I think the answer to this will be your Mum's decision based on quality of life vs the quantity. For instance if she could live for years and years with treatment (which is quite possible - I met a lady 3 years ago who is incurable, but was taking part in an Art Weeks display of her paintings and apart from having medication, wearing her compression sleeve on her arm, she was actually very well and still is!!).
Your Mum will most likely have a good discussion with her oncologist to discuss pro's and con's and her treatment plan, but for you - perhaps a call to Macmillan Helpline to discuss how you are feeling and dealing with your Mum's diagnosis might be helpful?
The telephone number is: 0800 808 00 00
Kindest wishes, Lesley
Obviously I don’t know your mums situation but I have chemo with two ladies who’s breast cancer has spread and are receiving life extending treatment very successfully, aren’t unwell and have a good quality of life so yes there is hope. You need to see what her oncologist can offer but try to be positive until you know a bit more. That said I’m incredibly sorry for your mums diagnosis xx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
