Hi, I’m worried sick. I’m 32 yrs old and have recently found a lump in my right breast just above the nipple to the right of my nipple. My nipple also inverts but then goes back to normal a few minutes after. I’m so scared to go to the doctors. My breast looks and feels different to the other. Does this sound like cancer

Hello, and sorry you’ve found your way here; BUT yes you MUST go to the doctor, we cannot diagnose, we are not qualified, only a doctor can do that, of course, and it can’t be done via the internet either. And please don’t Google, it’s mostly full of scare stories, cranks and often out of date too.
please do let us know how you get on,
sending courage and a comforting hug xxx

Hello,
I am sorry you have found yourself needing this group and no wonder you feel worried. However, worrying is no use without answers. There are lots of explanations for lumps and many are not cancer but you won't know unless you contact your doctor. More importantly......in the event it is cancer, an early treatment usually means it can be treated sucessfully. Unfortunately leaving it might allow it to spread. My own cancer was found early. Treatment wasn't always pleasant but here I am chatting to you six years later, still cancer free.
So tomorrow please ring the doctor's. Explain exactly when you found the lump and describe the changes in your nipple. I am sure the doctor will arrange for it to be checked. You may have to wait a week or two for results. Keep posting in this group if it helps. Ask questions or express your feelings. There is usually someone around to listen. The Awake thread is a good place to find experience although obviously you will find other's in a similar position to yourself if you post on the New thread.
Take care. Let us know how you get on.
Love Karen
Hi and welcome. Most lumps turn out to be nothing to be worried about but you absolutely must go and see your doctor and repeat what you described above to them so that it can be looked at properly just in case they need to carry out any investigations to definitely rule out cancer.
The earlier breast cancer is caught the better the outcome so go and get it looked at and remember that in the unlikely event that it is cancer that breast cancer is very treatable these days with very high success rates.
With apparently 1 in 2 of us expected to get cancer in our life time I'm glad it was breast cancer that I had.
Keep posting on here anytime you need to talk.
Sending hugs x
So glad you’ve made an appointment.
Will be holding your hand from afar, you can do this!

Great you got an appointment and remember if they refer you to the breast hospital that's good because if you just went away after the GP appointment you would spend the time worrying what if they are not correct? So brace yourself for tests which you must have because then when it's nothing to worry about you will know for sure it's nothing. Tests are not painful biopsy and stuff thinking about you X

Thank you Jayne, I’m absolutely terrified of needles so I’ll have to toughen up I think ️
You can do it and they are not painful . Just go to today's appointment and take it from there . It's horrible that you going through all this worry and you half my age it's just so unfair but remember most are not cancer . So the odds are this will be fine . . . But get the tests ! X thinking about you
