Hi I’m nearly 7 weeks post lumpectomy with reconstruction. I healed well, but 5 days ago I noticed an area , curve of breast joining abdomen to be red. Now gaping approximately 2cm long. I have been dressing it with inadine and swab, held on by bra. My worry is that I’m starting radiotherapy next Wednesday and although I’ve been told it can still go ahead, it might make wound break down more!! Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks
I will try get it seen tomorrow. I’m a district nurse so dressing it myself however I will still seek advice as plastics were involved in the reconstruction. It doesn’t look infected at the moment so fingers crossed. I’m still waiting to hear from radiotherapy nurse for advice also.
thanks
