First haircut post chemo

Hi Pipsqueak80, unfortunately I don't have a recommendation for you but as your post was unanswered I wanted to offer my thoughts.  Also by replying to your post it will bump you back up to the top of the list where this time someone who can help you might happen to be on the forum and see it.

My recommendation would be to call or visit local hairdressers and speak to them about this and ask them what experience they have in cutting chemo curls.  Maybe it doesn't need any special experience - does it as I don't know.  By speaking with a number of hairdressers hopefully you'll find one you connect with and feel comfortable trusting.

Thank you! It should’nt be such weirdly hard thing to do, but finding the idea of cutting of some of my new curls really daunting!!

If your finding it daunting Pipsqueak80 then maybe consider not cutting them or maybe hold off for a bit till you get used to the idea.  No point putting yourself under unnecessary stress if you're not quite ready yet.  If you had straight hair before then I imagine tying it all back will suit you and will buy you some time.

There really isn't a lot to worry about, curly hair is very forgiving and there are lots of great products out there for managing and taming curls. My hair has always been wavy/curly and I usually just wash and go.

Hi Pipsqueak80, I had my last cycle of chemo ten months ago and my hair also grew in curly but I put this down to having had curly hair as a child.

As my hair has grown and become heavier the curls have started to drop although they're not completely gone yet.
