Oh yes, normally am bed ridden for 2 days after 48hrs use

  • Hi, I got taken off Filgrastim and put on an alternative. I had swelling of the mouth and had to go to A & E. They kept me in and decided it might well be the Figramastim.

I feel awful after using it. Pains, headache, and feel really nauseous.

I get stomach cramps and muscle pain- almost like spasms. I often have had headaches as well but not every time. Side effects disappear normally for me after about 12 hours after injections stop.

  • Yup really bad, starts after about 2 injections normally for me, and joint pain and constipation! Finishes a day or so after. I just try and think it’s protecting me ultimately and try and get through on painkillers xx

Bad bone pain but not headaches. They suggested antihistamines and I had painkillers left over from surgery for the bone pain.

  • Use Loratidine (brand name Claritin) as it’s the antihistamine that works best, start taking the day before you start the injections, it’s only one a day.
    hope it helps

Hi Moomy, Do antihistamines work for the joint pain then? Willing to try anything that helps especially as I’ve just had my 6/6 chemo yesterday and injections start again today. Every little helps as they say Slight smile
