3rd march had routine mammogram. Thought nothing of it .recalled 5 days later for ultra sound and biopsies .to be told stage two invasive breast cancer in milk duct . Then every thing happe quick . Lumpectomey , then another op to scrape extra away then months of nothing until oncologist appointment to start radiotherapy. Told 5 sessions but now need 15 sessions holding my breath .  I don't use the breast nurses as know how busy they are . Pain from radiotherapy after three sessions hurts inside more than outside .was only told about skin problems not internal pain . Not slept for 5 months because of nerve damage from first op but after yoga suggested that's easing now can't sleep with aching inside from radiotherapy . Is this normal .

  • Hi

Have you spoken to the radio team about this pain?  I can remember after my first couple of radio. sessions I had some stomach pains and mentioned this to the team and they said it was nothing to do with them and possible something to do with the ER+ reducing tablets I was on.  It disappeared a couple of days later.  I'm assuming that as you don't mention chemo. you're ER+ as well and may be on these tablets.

I wonder also if the radio has made your nerve issues worse?  It is definitely worth speaking to the radio. team and asking their advice, I'm sure they'll be very helpful.

    Hope this helps,

    Best wishes, Lesley
