Hi Gwills welcome to the forum. Is your back actually bruised or does it just feel like that? If that is the case it could be from lying on the treatment table and having your arm up as well as it will put a strain on all the back area. If this doesnt improve over the next few days maybe ask the GP about this but meanwhile are you able to take Paracetamol to help with the pain?
