Hi has anyone tried or taking turmeric supplements to help with letrozole joint/muscle pain or stiffness ?
thanks… so sore at times
Hi,
Yes use it almost daily.I make a drink
Squeeze of lemon and some grated rind
Quarter spoonful tumeric
Grated fresh ginger or dried
Few drops of olive oil
Ground black pepper
Quarter spoonful of Manuka honey
Mix with hot water
I feel the pain melt away after about an hour
I've been taking it daily in a drink for years (long before BC diagnosis) and unfortunately, I still got hand and and feet pain when I first started exemestane in April but it has really settled down.
Just now, I have horrific wrist tendonitis. Mind you, maybe it would be far worse if I didn't take turmeric, and I am also very active so my hands don't get much of a rest. My wrist pain is worse from activity but everything else is much better - feet and back etc all benefit from moving around a lot.
I buy turmeric powder with black pepper already mixed through it and drink it with cocoa powder and honey. It is delicious!
I also started taking hemp oil (not the CBD oil) at night for overnight hip pain and that has been really good, I notice a difference with hip pain if I forget to take it.
I started taking a glucosamine and chondrotin supplement as a few people on here recommended it, and it seems to be helping with foot pain etc.
I think I have just injured my wrists from too much weed pulling and now they just won't settle. I have definitely noticed I am more prone to soft tissue injuries since starting exemestane. I also bruise very easily and badly these days!
It doesn't stop me doing anything though I m just carrying on with all the things I love to do.
Give turmeric a try!
Hi and thanks for the reply. I hesitated buying the tablets from Holland and barret as sure I read somewhere not to take tumeric if taking anti oestrogen tablets eg letrozole. I can seem to find yes definitely take it . I use it in cooking sometimes but would like to investigate more. Seeing BCN today so that’s on my list to ask lol !
Hi Hmfm, just popping in to say that I think I’ve read that using turmeric as a food is fine but not advisable to use it in supplement form. But I don’t know where I read it, sorry! I’m tagging Londonmumof2 - hope you don’t mind - as she often has info to share with references. Good luck with it all, HFxx
