Hey. I've just joined, had a post op appointment yesterday, following surgery to remove a phyllodes tumour, left feeling so confused. I think he was trying to tell me he didn't remove enough healthy tissue, he has referred me to another hospital and said to expect more surgery, possibly a mastectomy, possibly chemo or radiotherapy. I've read chemo isn't the right treatment for these kinds of tumour. Anyone here had one? Are they just so unusual that my surgeon didn't know enough? It's 3am, can't sleep, feel lost.
Hello I recently saw another post about phyllodes. If you type it into the above search bar it should come up. Also Google a Anna wallace. Try not to panic the consultant probably knows very little about the condition and isn't sure what the treatment is. I had a similar experience the consultant just kept repeating "very rare" frightened the life out of me. Where are you being referred to?
Hope you got some sleep. Take care.
