Good morning,

I've recently been informed that 10 weeks post surgery that I have a seroma under my surgery scar which has been slowly decreasing and informed that 99% women also suffer this following surgery.  I'm therefore interested to understand from anyone on their experience and top tips:

How long did you have the seroma (from what I have read it can take a full year to subside)?

Did you ask for it to be drained, I understand if it is encapsulated it is not advised and therefore wondered if there are any other options offered to you?

I am now having chemo so informed that this will slow recovery.

A friend of mine also has one about 30mm where her scaring is on her nipple which is really painful even when walking, she has been told there is nothing which can be done because it is encapsulated and is now 8 months post surgery, has anyone else suffered who can provide any top tips?

Can you have a mammogram when having a seroma (assuming that this will be more painful than normal) and how do the experts determine differences between this and a possible tumour?

Wishing you all the best in your treatments

Thanks
