out on a limb

What to do? Where to go? My breast cancer nurse has hung up her thermometer for a well earned 2 week holiday but there is no alternative person to pick up the slack and take her calls and dish out advice. That leaves the emergency oncology team which are for emergencies only. Called them for advice on how to cope with the dizziness that my chemo treatment causes and they have said to call  my own GP. Unfortunately GPs are just that, general practitioners, a little knowledge of everything but not every single chemotherapy drug and the causes and effects it can have. So I now await a phone call from a GP who will probably be scratching their head for an answer to my problem. The journey of cancer treatment and it's harsh results leave me with no words to say, no emotions left to feel, other than left high and dry and out on a limb.
