Hi Everyone
I had Lumpectomy surgery 4 days ago. Up to now I have not had any pain at all. I take dihydracodien (which i use regularly anyway for another condition) plus paracetamol.
I drive an automatic and was wondering when it might be safe to drive again?
TIA
Christine
Hi Diocese,
a general anaesthetic takes up to 3 whole weeks to fully leave your system so to be honest I wouldn’t even contemplate starting driving till at least after then. Your BCN would be a good person to ask about starting to drive again. I know it’s frustrating but a bit longer will make sure you’re safe, plus not get prosecuted should anything happen.

I was advised not to drive until I had my results which was 3 weeks. I too drive automatic. I ventured out about 4 weeks after as I had to go get my 2nd covid vaccine but only did local driving. Its more that they are concerned that you can control car or brake if necessary. I have managed longer trips now. It can just get a bit achy so if you have a long trip to do take a painkiller before you go x
