When you say that you feel rotten what exactly do do you mean as Letrozole does have some known side effects that most of us suffer, or have suffered whilst on this, and maybe if we knew what was happening for you we could try and help more. xxxx
I had breastcancer 19 years ago and now diagnosed with cancer in the spine. The doctors say they can treat it and i am due to have an infusion next week. I have been on Letrosole for about six weeks and for the last three weeks Palcolciclic. I am completely off my food and lost weight and became weak and now trying to gain weight. I feel nauseus and generally unwell, and depressed some of the time. I can be quite tearful too. The Doctor and Cancer nurse said that the side effects will eventually go. I am lucky in that I have good family support. I am 75 years old.
Hi Lavenderpansy I noticed that you didnt say anything about maybe feeling a bit scared! It would be a huge surprise if you didnt' as you have been through the mill and continue to do so. Some of those symptoms could be coming form the chemo and Letrozole but some could be about feeling depressed and being tearful and anxious and maybe needing to have a chat with someone that's not family? I hope that I am not speaking out of turn here as I do not mean to. The effects of the treatment are often physical and felt that way but nobody ever tells us about how we might feel about all these and how best to deal with the thought and fears in our heads either.
Does your unit have any Maggie's centres or Macmillan centres that you could make contact with and have chat with them there or not? If not what about the folks at the Macmillan Line as they have people who can talk with you and also have Cancer buddies where they match you up with someone whom you may want to talk with on a more regular basis. 08088080000

Thankyou for your reply. Yes I suppose I am scared as the future is not certain. Thankyou for your hugs. It is nice to communicate with someone who understands the feelings we get. The Buddie system sounds good.
