Muga heart scan

My dearest friend took me to Ipswich hospital yesterday for my heart scan to check out it's performance after my 1st chemotherapy. Wonderful staff, caring and sensitive. I have a big challenge with needles due to past experiences being exposed to unpleasant things, and I remember my nurse carefully inserting the tube into my arm whilst I was just wishing for a distraction of anything to look at on blank clinical walls, searching for anything to take my mind off what was happening. In contrast the room where all the equipment was to take radio active pictures of my heart was delightfully bright and sunny and a radio station of chirpy sounds softly filling the space. Two lots of 15 minute pictures and a blissful lie down even on a some what uncomfortable metal tube seemed to drift past so easily. One of the nurses said to me 'sorry if you are finding your hospital visits boring or dull'. But I see it all as a new adventure, something to make me better and blessed to meet such a wonderful team of knowledgeable medical people to achieve that goal.

  • Hi

That's great to hear how well you were looked after recently when you went for a MUGA heart scan and thanks for taking the time to write about your experience here. I'm sure others who are waiting to have this done will find your description uplifting Slight smile

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
