never had heartburn before chemo. Is this a side effect to expect? any suggestions in cope with it?
Hi Babafudge yes, I did have some heartburn. More on EC than on Docetaxol (known as EC-T). I found it helped to eat smaller amounts more often, so moved to 6 very small meals or snacks rather than 3 meals a day. Also avoided eating after about 6-7 pm as I found it was worse at night if I did, and drank loads of water and no caffeine. It has passed now.
Hi, I had horrific heartburn after my first cycle. It was a weekend and I called the on call GP I was so worried. I now take Omeprazole, daily through the whole 3 weekly cycle and twice a day around the actual time of treatment itself, for about a week. That has really helped. Suggest you chat to your nurse or oncologist. Good luck
