Hello everyone I am a newby and not sure how to start.

Well here goes

December last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 hormonal breastcancer. The lump was 3cm and I also had a lymph gland affected and hip and collarbone.  The cancer is a rapid growth.

I think I have come to terms with it, however I sometimes think that this cant be me as I have no symptom could the consultant be wrong.  I  know deep down the consultant is correct as I have seen the scan result and the lab results.

I was put an a course of immunotherapy treatment which is called kisqali.  And since being on it the bone cancers have gone.  Does anyone else receive this treatment.  Has anyone actually totally recovered from this type of breast cancer or will I never fully recover. I know this is a question for my consultant but I live in Spain and evan though my consultant speak great English I can't bring myself to ask her incase I don't like the answer.

  • Hi Karhian

I can’t answer your question, but wishing you well in finding out more about your diagnosis that will help you

There are groups for people living with stage 4 cancer. I read Jane Mclelland’s book “Starving Cancer” and she has a Facebook group. There are lots of people on there with NED no evidence of disease and their stories of how they got there. Jane herself is living 20+ years after her first stage 4 diagnosis. The doctors will only tell you prognosis when you’re ready.

Some people never ask. It’s your choice. I’m waiting to hear if I’m stage 4. I’m seeking counselling. Listen to your heart and find your own way.

    Sending my best wishes

Thank you for the information I will have a look.  I wish you well for your diagnosis.  All I can say is just try and keep positive and eat healthy food I think that's how I cope,  I am glad that in general I am a half full girl not a half empty one.  Good luck for the future. Xx

  • Thank you. My results came back clear. I was overjoyed. I’ve started to read Fi Munro’s book - definitely a half full glass girl like you!

The very best of luck to you too xx
