Hi taking letrozole. My per has changed colour has this happened to anyone else xxx
Hi Figgy2019
Sorry you're having to take this medication
I'm also taking Letrozole since 9 weeks, so I'm interested in your issue. However, I don't understand what you meant to say ie 'per' changing colour ;)
Can I assume you mean 'hair' perhaps?
Would you explain further, ie what is your issue, how long since, how long taking Letrozole, any other side effects etc? You'll be likely to get some response if you could give more details
Hi yes I meant urine I have spoken to bcn and she said I am probably not drinking enough. I have been taking letrozole for about eight weeks I have aches and pains and trouble sleeping hopefully by month three it will have settled down x
Hi Figgy2019
Ah, that makes it clearer. I've not heard of that. Certainly, if you're not drinking enough, your wee will be dark/strong. Have a look on the internet but here is a site showing the different colours of wee. Ideally, you should be up on the pale end.
The first brand of Letrozole I had was horrendous and I only took 12 tablets and stopped. I got a different brand and these seem to suit me better.
What I do is to order the Letrozole (from repeat prescription) at a different time from any other meds on repeat, purely so that the script is for Letrozole only. Then, ask your pharmacist (it it goes straight though) not to dispense until you've seen which brand they have. You can then take the script to whichever pharmacy has the brand you wish to have. I decided this way was better than asking GP to specify specific brand/s
Once you find a brand that you can tolerate, then you can stick to it
With my current brand, I do have stiff joints but not the seizing up/pain I had with the first brand. I do get fatigue but I think that's fairly normal. I'll see how I go with them. The 'risk benefit' for me taking these tablets is only 2% so, personally, I don't feel I'm wanting to let them mess up my life for five years for only 2% benefit LOL
I can't comment re sleep as I've been a very poor sleeper for the last 20+ years. On a good night, I'll get 3 hrs but I do try to stay in bed to rest, unless I'm too restless, in which I get up and do something useful
Out of interest, what's your Risk benefit % regarding the Letrozole?
Hope that makes sense
