Hi guys.
anybody else suffer with horrible taste in mouth after taking tamoxifen which can linger for hours. Any tips please to help with it.
Hi
Having an unpleasant taste after taking tamoxifen must be very unpleasant and I can understand why you'd want to see if anyone here has any tips for dealing with it.
I don't have any experience with this but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. This is possibly because this group is very active and your post has slipped off the first page before someone who can help has seen it. Replying to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far in your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I've previously had Tamoxifen but don't remember having any taste in my mouth at any time. I don't remember it being on the list of possible side effects.
It could probably be due to something else. Has anything else changed, ie different tablets started? The other thing, could it be reflux, as you will have been quite stressed during your treatment so perhaps you've had some indigestion/heartburn, in which case, it could be reflux perhaps. I can certainly vouch for horrible taste due to reflux !!!
Good luck
I've been on tamoxifen only 2 weeks but have woken up on the odd day with a nasty taste in mouth. My main issue is swollwn ankles by the end of the day so get my legs up on sofa.
I agree with I've found that taking it with juice or squash in a morning is better than water. I think everyone is different and it seems to depend on the brand you get dispensed with by pharmacist. There's also been interesting conversations on the 'oestrogen reducing medication' thread.
