Hi   Started taking letrozole two weeks ago   Due to start 5 days radiotherapy 7 th June.  Getting headaches and feeling very tired already.  Does anyone take anything herbal to help with symptoms x. I have an underactive thyroid and heart disease (angina). I am 62.  Any tips would be much appreciated xx

I've been prescribed Letrozole recently.  Very quickly, I was getting very stiff and painful joints so, in order not to jeopdize radiotherapy (I had a complicated dislocation of shoulder last year, with nerve damage, and range of movement not yet gained) so, I have to say, I stopped the Letrozole after only 11 days.  By the time I started Radiotherapy, my shoulders were feeling less stiff and painful, I'm pleased to say.

So, I have been able to get a different brand of Letrozole and have had 5 days of it so far.  Yes, I'm beginning to feel joints complaining but I'll see how it goes.

I have to say, I had similar problems during menopause and had hormone blockers 9 yrs ago too, which I managed to tolerate for a few  years but then, due to benifit being ony 2%, decided to stop them, after discussion with Breast Care team,  How I will manage this time, is anyone's guess ;)  I'll definitely give these, or another similar drug, a good try, tho.

Different brands will contain different fillers, so it could be the fillers affecting you, rather than the drug itself.  Alternatively, your Breast Care team could prescribe an alternative drug which you may find better tolerated.

    Wishing you all the best
