Hi,
my wife has been diagnosed with lobular invasive breast cancer, she had an MRI scan last week and we were sitting waiting on the results but the nurse phoned and said the results were not available Prayd we would need to wait another week!! Totally panicking now that there is something wrong, any advice would be greatly appreciated PrayPray

  • Hi

Its truly horrible waiting for results , and unfortunately that is the process throughout treatment , action and then waiting. When the results are through , there are a team of professionals who look at the results and discuss treatment plans etc ,I think in these covid times these teams seem to take longer to be able to discuss things (my friend was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of months ago and has had to wait longer than normal for results) - so it will probably be just that , if anything more sinister than expected they generally get people in ASAP, rather than wait longer ? Throughout my treatment , when waiting or plans changed , I just reminded myself that they are the experts and are working to get the best possible outcome for me , and my own time scales were not important, the treatment plan was what was important.

Easy for me to say that a few years down the line , but hopefully you will be able to take a bit of positivity from what I have said ?

    Best wishes

    Jo
